Description: A brilliant, dark ruby red with crimson reflexes in the glass. In the nose an intensive and seductive bouquet of fruits and dark berries like blackberries and black currants to this dried fruit, accentuated by fine flavours of spices and oak perfectly integrated. These flavours are reflected at the palate. The wine is attractively powerful, a good tannin structure and a remarkably velvety elegant presence points at the palate and in the long aftertaste.

Acid: 4.9 g/l
Drink recommendation: Harmonious companion to cattle and calf, steak only browned softl, game and many cheese type.

Wine-growing estate:
The Quinta do Pégo and its  30 hectares of vineyards of the classification step A, with partial up to 70 years old vines are the dream turned true of the Danish wine enthusiast Karsten Søndergaard. He is in the full possession of the project since 2003. The wine-growing estate has specialized in ports of the highest quality (Vintage and Late Bottled Vintage) and outstanding Douro red wines enrich the assortment already, too.
Cerro do Santo is the name of a ruin nearby the Quinta do Pégo. Lagares, stores and even living spaces are existing there to this day and remind of a great past dreamily.       

Vinification:
Alcoholic fermentation with temperature control between 25 -  28 °C in stainless still tanks and also in "lagares". Matured for 10 months in used french oak barrels until the wine is bottled.
