Mount Riley is the predominant peak in the Richmond Range of mountains that overlook the Wairau Valley in Marlborough.
The experienced viticultural team manages all work in the vineyards. The winemakers at Mount Riley believe passionately in the adage that "good wine is made in the vineyard" and they spend an enormous amount of time and effort in the vineyard as an addition to their winemaking role.
The wines are made by combining the best of modern technology with traditional hands-on winemaking skills. There is enormous variety across the Mount Riley range of wines. But every wine shares a consistent commitment to quality.
Completely machine harvest. Separation of the gathered grapes after section of lands. After the pressing of the destemed grapes a temperature controlled fermentation (14 to 21 days) is carried out into steel tanks at 11° to 15° degrees Celsius by using selected yeasts. After that the wine remains on the fine yeast up to 2 month to get more depth and a fine glaze. The wines of the best plots in conclusion are married, filtered and bottled.
